Anyone who knows me well knows that I am a fanatic for new technology. So it should come as no surprise that I hunted down and purchased an iPad 2 this week. So far, I have to say, I love it. I am hoping to use this as my main “computer”, at least when I’m not by my desk at school.
There are many things to work around with the iOS operating system, but I find the freedom to use my hands directly with the screen makes the iPad really intuitive and fun! I’m typing on the iPad right now, and I can go almost as fast as on a regular keyboard, once I get the hang of it.
Here are some ideas that I hope to use the iPad for:
Classroom: Presentations, interactive video games (Rock Band), attendance, grading
Professional: updating the websites/blogs, creating First Iowa Orff newsletter, writing up research/lesson ideas
Home: News, books, Netflix movies, web surfing
Church: We already tried this this morning. For one-page songs or hymns, a photo in the iPad works better on a stand than a think hymnal that won’t stay open!
