I just finished two successful summer courses. The first was the course I direct at Baldwin-Wallace College in Berea, OH, outside of Cleveland. This was our second year, and we went from 25 students (1 level, 3 teachers) to 39 students (2 levels, 4 teachers). Incredible growth! We are hoping to keep up the trend and offer all three levels next summer.
The second course was at the Vermont Orff Center. This course, set up by my friend Steve Owens, was the first Orff Schulwerk course in Vermont in 32 years! Our numbers were small, but there is hope that with expanded housing options, we may be able to repeat level one or offer level two next year.
I just started a new job as a K-12 music teacher at the Price Lab School.
